Q) When does the 2025 regular season start?
A) EPIC, U8, U10. U12 and U14 divisions begins September 13th and ending November 10th. Games are at Damon Garcia.
U6 games begin September 6th.
Q) I would like my child to "play-up" an age group, what is the process?
A) Play-up requests must have a reason and must be approved by our AYSO Regional Commissioner. Please contact our Regional Commissioner, Todd Cooper ([email protected]) by June 1st with your request and you will be notified if it is approved or not.
Q) When will I hear from my coach?
A) We will select our coaches and form our teams over the summer. The Regular Season Coaches Meeting will be held: (TBD) , 6U-8U time 6:30pm-7:30pm and 10U, 12U and 14U time7:45pm - 8:45pm. The coaches will receive their equipment, uniforms, roster and player medical waiver forms at that meeting, and then will start contacting their players. You can access your coaches contact information in Blue Sombrero after September 1st. Please do NOT email us because you have not heard from the coach until after the end of the day on September 1st.
Q) My child(ren)’s practice days and/or times are inconvenient. Can I switch teams?
A) We cannot make any change to players' teams. One exception is incorrect division placement - for example a boy placed on a girls team (or vice-versa) or if we accidentally did not place your child with their sibling. No refunds will be made for drops because of inconvenient practices. Your child’s playing time in games will not be affected by their ability to attend practices.
Q) What can I do to have more control over when and where my child practices?
A) Coach your child’s team. Because coaches are volunteering their time and energy to our program and our kids, they have sole discretion as to what days, what times and what locations they hold practice. As a coach, you will have the flexibility to arrange your practices around your schedule and we will provide you the support and training you need to make it a successful experience for everyone. After the teams are formed, we would still love your help as an assistant coach but the time to sign up as a coach to be able to determine practice time and location was in the summer.
Q) Who is responsible for setting up or taking down the goals and corner flags?
A) It is the responsibility of parents of the participating teams to set up and take down the goals each week if those teams have the first or last games of the day on their assigned field. Please plan on arriving a little earlier than normal if your team has the responsibility of setting up your field. Team responsibility will be listed under the Coaches Tab after schedules are issued in late August.
Q) My child just had their ears pierced, can they wear earrings/ jewelry
For safety reasons, please refrain from obtaining any piercings just prior to and during the season. Earrings or any other form of jewelry are not permitted during practice and games. Taping of earrings is not permitted. A player will be asked to remove jewelry at game time.
Q) My child is suddenly unable to play this fall, what is your Refund Policy?
Registration Fee Refund Policy
The deadline for refunds for the Region 599 core fall season is July 15th of each calendar
year. The refund request must be made in writing (e-mail or letter to P.O Box 368 SLO, CA
93406) to the Region 599 Registrar and/or Regional Commissioner on or before July 15th. The
refund will be for the amount of registration fee paid minus the AYSO National Fee which is not
refundable.
A refund will also be paid to those who move out of Region 599 or for children who become
medically unable to play prior to August 20th (for each Fall Season). Proof of new address or
verification in writing from player’s doctor will be required before refund can be made. The refund
will be for the amount of registration fee paid minus the AYSO National Fee which is not
refundable.
Once teams are formed by August 20th of each calendar year, NO refunds are offered. We will
not refund registration fees because a player is assigned to a team with an inconvenient practice
time or for other reasons related to the assigned team.
Please understand that we incur significant costs once your player is registered, including fees to
AYSO National, our AYSO Area, and the SLO Youth Sports Association for field use, as well as
uniform and equipment costs. In addition, late drops create significant challenges for coach
recruitment and team formation.
