To move forward, we need two licensed 10U Coaches — one Head Coach and one Assistant Coach. The Head Coach must have coached during the Core season (though we may be able to request an exception if needed). Each All-Star team must also have three Regional Referees, and we can help coordinate those.
We’re required to attend at least 4 of 6 tournaments, including our own Surf N Turf, so this commitment is essential to keeping the 10U Girls All-Star team alive.
How Coaches Are Selected
Applications are reviewed by the All-Star Committee, which includes:
Regional Commissioner
Regional Coach Administrator
All-Star Coordinator
One additional AYSO Board Member
Selection is based on:
Volunteer contributions to the Region
Communication and reliability with deadlines
Positive Coaching principles
History of player development and team management
Preparing for the Season
- Conditionally accepted Head Coaches will:
Observe players during the regular season, at the All-Star Assessment Day (coordinated by selected coaches), and during the End-of-Season Tournament
- Assemble their volunteer team, including:
Assistant Coach
Referee Team (qualified and certified)
Team Manager
Surf-n-Turf Volunteer Coordinator (each team must help fill volunteer positions for the hosted tournament)
The All-Star Coordinator will provide each Head Coach with a list of certified referees and eligible players who have expressed interest in participating.
