About AYSO Region 599

AYSO Region 599 serves the City of San Luis Obispo as part of the American Youth Soccer Organization, a national, volunteer-driven youth soccer program focused on creating a positive and development-centered experience for all players.

AYSO is structured to support local communities while maintaining consistent national standards:

• National (AYSO) – Establishes rules, philosophies, and program structure
• Section 10 – Provides regional support across multiple Areas
• Area Q – Supports local Regions, including Region 599
• Region 599 – Operates the local program serving San Luis Obispo families

Region 599 delivers programs that reflect AYSO’s national philosophy while adapting to the needs of our local community.

Our Programs

AYSO Region 599 offers the following programs:

• Core Program (Ages 4–17)
  A recreational soccer program focused on balanced teams, player development, and a positive game environment.
• EPIC Program (Everyone Plays In Our Community)
  A supportive soccer program for players who benefit from a more individualized or adaptive experience.

In addition to our Core Program, Region 599 may offer the following secondary programs:

• All-Stars Program
• Spring Tournament Teams

These programs are tryout-based and designed for players seeking additional competitive opportunities. Participation requires involvement in the Core Program and selection is based on ability, availability, and program needs.

Teams in these programs typically participate in tournaments during the winter and spring seasons.

AYSO Region 599 is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Every team, every game, and every player experience depends on the involvement of parents and community members.

Volunteers serve as:

• Coaches

• Field Support and Board Members

This structure allows us to provide a program that is focused on players, not profit, and rooted in community involvement.
