AYSO Region 599 - San Luis Obispo, CA

JOIN THE YOUTH SOCCER COMMUNITY!

Volunteer with AYSO: Coach, Referee, Region Admin

AYSO is powered by volunteers like YOU! Help make a difference in your community by supporting youth development through soccer. No experience is required, just a passion for helping kids grow, play, and thrive.

AYSO provides the training (both in-person and online) and mentorship you need to be successful in any role you choose.

We know the onboarding steps can feel like a lot, especially if you’re new. These requirements help us maintain a safe and positive environment for all players. If you need help along the way, please reach out to your Division Coordinator, we’re here to support you.

STEP 1: REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER

Register as an AYSO Volunteer!

The first step to becoming an AYSO volunteer is to visit your Region’s Sports Connect portal and click “Register Now.”

First-time volunteers:
Create a new account using your email address and a password, then follow the prompts to complete your registration.

Returning volunteers:
Log into your account, click “My Account,” then select “Volunteer” from the left-side menu to register for the current season.

If you plan to coach, please make sure your volunteer account is the same account used to register your player, or is linked to that account. For assistance, please contact [email protected].

Please note: Use your legal name and a unique email address (not shared). Your email is your identity in AYSO systems and must match your background check, LiveScan, and training records.

STEP 3: CA LiveScan / Fingerprinting

Live Scan Fingerprinting
(Required in CA)
details and guidelines

Live Scan Fingerprinting (Required in CA)
All California AYSO volunteers must complete a one-time Live Scan fingerprint background check.

Cost is $25 (paid directly to the provider).

Use the link below to schedule your appointment:

Select “Get Fingerprinted at a LiveScan Service Center,” use the same email as your AYSO account, and enter Region #599. Choose a location that works for you (the UPS Store on Broad is a quick and easy option).

(LiveScans are not transferrable between organizations, if you were fingerprinted for your child's school or other sports program, you will need to get fingerprinted again for AYSO.)
